Breast Implant Booklet

Maryland State law (Maryland Annotated Code, Health-General §20-114) requires doctors to give patients who are considering breast implantation surgery information about the advantages, disadvantages, and risks associated with a breast implantation at least five (5) days before breast implantation surgery.  The booklet has been developed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Federal government agency that is responsible for monitoring the safety and use of medical devices, including breast implants.  These FDA booklets contain the most current and complete information that the FDA provides to consumers about breast implants.
