Maryland Fetal Alcohol Spectrun Disorder Coalition (FASD)
The Maryland Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Coalition would like to offer the services of their Speaker’s Bureau to your agency/organization. The Speaker’s Bureau was established in 2006. It provides CME and CEU-appropriate lectures by knowledgeable health professionals on a wide range of topics relating to FASD. We have provided these talks for health professionals and physicians throughout the mid-Atlantic area. The feedback has universally been positive.
FASD is not only relevant for those in the fields of obstetrics and pediatrics. Health care providers in other specialties will often encounter FASD issues. For example, substance abuse counselors, juvenile counselors, mental health therapists, and even school nurse. A sample of available topics includes:
- Mental Health Treatment Strategies
- Screening, Identification, and Referral in Juvenile Courts
- Integrating Multidisciplinary Diagnostic Center in Systems of Care
- Preventing FASD: Practices of Promise from the Field
With advanced notice we would likely be able to provide a speaker on almost any FASD-related topic.
If you are interested in utilizing our Speaker’s Bureau for your group or agency please contact me, Mary Johnson, at 410-767-5581 or mdjohnson@dhmh.state.md.us.
We look forward to working with you.
