Women’s Health Program
The goal of the Women’s Health Program is to assess and address health issues that commonly, uniquely, or disproportionately affect women throughout their lifespan. In addition, the Women’s Health Program supports activities that not only prevent disease but also improves the essence of psychological and physical wellbeing or the “wellness” of Maryland women.
The Women’s Health Program partners with other program areas to:
- Advocate for issues related to improving women’s health in Maryland
- Disseminate information on emerging women’s health topics
- Collect and analyze gender-based Maryland data on health
- Integrate health and wellness services that facilitate and incorporate the unique needs of women across the lifespan
- Encourage women to have their recommended health screenings and immunizations
- Represent Maryland’s Women’s Health at regional and national women’s health forums
