DHMH partners with several organizations in an effort to reach its mission.
- The University of Maryland (UM) assists DHMH in analyzing BRFSS and hospital discharge data.
- The Department of Aging (MDoA) promotes and implements the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) statewide.
- The Arthritis Foundation (AF) trains and recertifies exercise and aquatics leaders for DHMH.
- DHMH provides internships to students in the health science department at the College of Health Professions at Towson University.
- DHMH and Agrability are working together to reach out to farmers.
- DHMH and the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension offices in Frederick and Baltimore counties are working together to reach out to the rural community.
- Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) reaches out to people with disabilities.
- The Rural Maryland Association advocates for the health of rural communities and their residents.
- Local health departments and local area agencies (link to mini-grantee locations) on aging provide arthritis self-help classes in the community.
