Success Stories
Lois Webster (Salisbury Arthritis Aquatics Program)“I have had lower back pain for several years…On December 13, 2005 I fell flat on my back and was in severe pain again. When I was at my worse a treatment took about a week to work…The warm water and the exercise in the pool are a big help. Without the pool, the other treatments wouldn’t be as effective”. |

Mae P. Johnson (Salisbury Arthritis Aquatics Program)“… I feel very blessed and fortunate to be able to participate in the Arthritis Aquatics Program. The program provides an atmosphere in which we are encouraged to compete with ourselves and we stress to achieve a level of improvement that reflects our own personal effort and fullest potential for better health. I have been able to realize the following benefits from the program:
I would recommend this program to anyone (I do every day!) who wishes to improve their lives as I look forward to continuous participation” |

Baltimore City(Martin H. Cruise, Sr.; Instructor)“…When she entered this class her mobility level was extremely limited. She also came with a low self esteem attitude that prevented her from participating fully in the two classes she attended weekly. Presently, she has been in the class for almost 2 yrs and has completely turned her life around. Once she made up her mind to participate fully and with the encouragement of her instructor and her fellow students, movement has re-appeared. Activities such as walking, putting on clothing with out difficulty and the loss of weight have been remarkable. She has also started taking interest in activities outside the house again”. |
Cecil County (Linda Tull, Community Services Supervisor)“…suffering from Lyme disease and Fibromyalgia and was severely depressed when he began the program…attendance in the class has made a huge difference in the quality of his life. Although he is only 60 years old, he was in extensive pain and often unable to perform basic tasks. After attending our Arthritis Foundation Exercise program class for almost a year, he is now able to enjoy his life again. He is becoming active in a service organization and is helping with the Special Olympics.” |
